Today, I went to FireFox Help to try to find a solution. What a waste of time.

If you are having the same problem, this is what you need to do if you want to save your tabs when exiting FireFox:

Set What Pages Open When FireFox Starts

This is a great feature you can use in addition to the home page settings. To save time you can have FireFox open the pages you were visiting the last time you used it so you can continue right where you left off.

1. At the top of the FireFox window, click on the FireFox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options
2. Select the General panel.
3. In the Startup box click the drop-down menu next to “When FireFox starts:” and select what FireFox should display when it starts up.
   • Show my home page–Displays the home page (or home pages of course).
   • Show a blank page–Displays a blank page (this loads fast – no waiting for lots of tabs to load).
   • Show my windows and tabs from last time–Opens the pages you were visiting the last time you used Firefox so you can continue right where you left off. For more information, see Session Restore.
4. Click OK to close the Options window.

Try it out:  If you really want to get fancy, you can set a group of websites as your home page and set Firefox to open the pages you were visiting the last time you used it. That way you can pick up your work where you left off and have one click access to your favorite sites.

Tying It All Together

Firefox is really flexible–allowing you to decide what works best. Keep it simple and set a single website as your home page or set up one click access to all of your favorite website and save time by having Firefox pick up where you left off when it starts. What works best for you? Go ahead and try a few things out.

That being said, I have since heard some pretty bad stories from Internet Marketers and other people with whom I communicate online. Today, I got an eMail from John Chow, owner of johnchow.com, ranting about GoDaddy redirecting his domain after eMailing him notice that he had five days to correct an error in his WhoIs contact information. The problem was (according to Mr. Chow) GoDaddy disabled his domain and redirected it to an error page the same day that they sent him the eMail.

Consequently johnchow.com was down for one day even after Chow corrected the contact information. He couldn’t get in touch with the GoDaddy employees in charge of getting his domain back online for a whole day.

Don’t let this happen to you. I have been with 1&1 Domains since June 2010 and they have always been helpful, courteous, and patient with me. Their customer service, not to mention their technical knowledge, is well worth the fees I’ve paid for the domains I have registered with them.

“Fixing Red Eye with Adobe PhotoShop”

It is a common problem. Your have captured some adorable photographs of your new baby boy and can’t wait to show them off to your friends and family only to be disappointed, when you look at them on your computer or pick them up from the photo lab, by the terrible red eye.

Your precious child looks like a demon or something from a scary movie. This problem is commonly referred to as “red eye.”

Red eye is caused by the light from camera’s flash reflecting off of the retina in the back of the eye.

In low light conditions the iris of the eye is larger providing for a larger surface to appear red in your photos.

Unfortunately, it is in low light conditions that a flash is needed the most.

Red is becoming more and more of a problem and this is partly due to the emergence of digital photo technology. Since digital cameras do not need the same internal mechanics or space for film they are becoming smaller and smaller compared to their film counterparts.

This means that the flash is much closer to the lens. In fact, in most new point and shoot digital cameras the flash is directly above the lens.

This is the problem. When the flash is closer to the lens it causes the flash to enter the iris directly and reflect straight back to the camera causing the terrible red eye that has ruined your family pictures.

Most digital cameras have a red eye reduction feature built in which causes a pre flash immediately before the camera exposes the image.

This causes the iris to become smaller for the actual picture. Unfortunately, this function rarely completely eliminates red eye from your photographs.

Since most point and shoot digital cameras do not have a hot shoe allowing the photographer to add a flash away from the camera the only option for eliminating red eye is to fix it after the fact.

This is where Adobe PhotoShop comes in. PhotoShop makes it easy to correct even the worst cases of red eye in photographs.
